Ipswich Ale

Mercury Brewing Company was founded in 1991 in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The company’s humble beginnings included only two styles of beer, the flagship Ipswich Original Ale and the Ipswich Dark Ale, and were self distributed by the employees in 64 ounce “growler” jugs.

Today the company continues to grow, having expanded their line of Ipswich Ales to include an IPA, Oatmeal Stout, Nut Brown, and various seasonal and limited edition brews. They also produce a smaller, specialty brand known as Stone Cat that is only distributed in Massachusetts.

This summer, the company will be expanding into a much larger space of its own in the heart of downtown Ipswich. The new Ipswich Ale Brewery will be 36,000 square feet, with a brand new brewpub. The new facility will also make it possible to hold tours, which is not possible in the current location

Mercury Brewing Company is a craft brewery that continues to be a North Shore tradition. Each of their brews is hand crafted in small batches from the finest hops and malts and naturally conditioned. All their recipes are unfiltered for purity and unbeatable taste.
